Looking ahead, governments will expect more from private sector in terms of taking action against climate change, and the role of finance in supporting these changes is becoming crucial. Financial institutions and businesses urgently need to develop comprehensive climate transition plans to lead their climate transition goals and fulfill their climate commitments. Meanwhile, all parties need to deepen their understanding of the concept of transition finance, innovate and strengthen transition finance measures, and fully leverage the power of finance to support the real economy's move towards a low-carbon transition.

The 3rd BMC Green Finance Seminar, organized by the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS) and titled Expert Sharing and Report Launch: Transition Plan Promotes China’s Transition Finance Development, is scheduled for March 28, 2024 (Thursday), at 3:00 PM, at New Everbright Centre. This seminar will feature industry experts who will share insights and exchange views on domestic and international climate transition plans, related policies, market trends, and best practices in transition finance. It aims to lead the forefront of multilateral exchange in the field of climate transition, facilitate best practices sharing for various market entities implementing climate transition plans and transition finance, and explore the opportunities and challenges within the Chinese context, thereby promoting the development of China's climate transition plans and transition finance. At the same time, this salon will mark the launch of a research report—Transition Plan Promotes China’s Transition Finance Development. This report represents a collaborative effort between Carbon Trust China and the IFS, under the framework of China-UK collaboration on transition finance.
