Greentech Innovation and Investment
The Center was jointly established by the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS) and the Carbon Trust (UK), and is one of the policy outcomes of the 10th UK–China Economic and Financial Dialogue. The Center aims to promote the large-scale deployment of green and low-carbon technologies and accelerate the growth of green enterprises by building a platform that connects domestic and international green technology projects with financing resources. It develops a database of green technology projects both in China and abroad, facilitates green VC/PE investment, supports international collaboration in the field of green technologies, and provides consulting services for the commercialization, financing, and investment of green technology projects. The Center works closely with investment institutions, green technology companies, research organizations, corporate users, government bodies, and other social institutions to promote innovation and application of green technologies. In addition, the Center advances a series of initiatives related to sustainable finance, serving as the Joint Secretariat of the China Climate Engagement Initiative (CCEI) and the UK–China Transition Finance Working Group.

Finance support green-technology platform

A multilateral “finance support green-technology platform” has been built with a focus on developing green finance and supporting green technology. It takes full advantage of IFS and partner institutes’ resources and joins scientists and innovative science and technology enterprises to introduce financial resources and support economic and scientific and technological development.

Green-technology project datebase

The center has established a Green-technology project datebase, which collecting more than 400 green technology enterprises from domestic and foreign institutions and participating in the previous Blue Creation Awards. The project involves energy, transportation, industry, construction, information technology, new materials, negative carbon technology, agriculture and other key fields.
