The Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS) shares China’s exploration and practices of the integrated development of green and inclusive finance at the Digital Supply Chain Finance Conference

On March 29, the 2023 Digital Supply Chain Financial Brand Summit, hosted by by Zhejiang E-Commerce Bank (MYbank) was held in Hangzhou. Zhang Fang, Deputy Director of the ESG Investment Research Center of IFS, was invited to speak at the Green Finance sub-forum. She introduced global trends in sustainable finance and current state of integrated development of green finance and inclusive finance in China, and shared leading practices in supporting the integrated development in the supply chain. The Research Report on Supply Chain Finance Supporting the Integrated Development of Green Finance and Inclusive Finance, authored by IFS, Ant Group Research Institute, and MYbank, was released.

Sustainable finance has become an important global trend, as regulatory agencies worldwide are continuously focusing on ESG issues. The integrated development of green finance and inclusive finance is an essential approach to sustainable development. Zhang Fang introduced the policy background and significance of the integrated development of green finance and inclusive finance in China, pointing out the need to guide inclusive entities such as small and micro enterprises to undergo green and low-carbon transition. She also shared China's current explorations and practices, including the group standard Green Evaluation Criteria for Small and Micro Enterprises as well as financial institutions’ practices in green and inclusive management systems and product innovation. In addition, she analyzed financial institutions' practices in developing innovative financial products for green and inclusive supply chain and summarized their experiences. Finally, Zhang Fang offered recommendations and prospects for the integrated development of green finance and inclusive finance.
