On the morning of 25 March 2021, on behalf of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS), personnel from the ESG Investment Center attended the opening meeting held at China Beijing Environment Exchange (CBEEX) of the pilot project on environmental information disclosure by Chinese and British financial institutions. The meeting was attended by personnel from related organizations and institutions, including the Research Bureau of the People’s Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, CBEEX, Tencent Financial Technology, United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, and Chartered Financial Analyst Institute.

At the meeting, the status quo and development trends of environmental information disclosure of China’s financial institutions and the inadequacies and issues concerning current work were discussed. The foundation of environmental information disclosure of financial institutions and the earlier work to clarify the research objectives, content, and methods for the environmental information disclosure of financial institutions were also discussed.
